The inexorable rise of the 993

I see that 911V have got two low mileage but bog-standard 993s on offer at £30k+.
The price of a good 993 just seems to go up and I wonder if and when it will stop.
I've kicked myself many times for selling mine.
If they follow the pre-impact pattern, they'll be £40k within 5 years.
In a way I think its a shame. Because its a 3rd car and budget/residual had to come into play, I intentionally bought a post 100K mile 993 to be able to enjoy it, so not worrying all the time that I'm putting mileage on it and thus effecting it's value. The price of a good 993 just seems to go up and I wonder if and when it will stop.

A 30K low mileage 993 to me would have to become a bit of a garage queen, and on previous low milegae Porsches I've owned it just took a bit of the pleasure away everytime I drove them.
I've also found over the years, low mileage does not necessarily mean lower bills.
Saying that, some people hardly ever drive their cars, so fair play to them.
...well they only seem to be going one-way.
pre-40k miles 993's have been selling in the mid-30's for over a year now. Mid-mileage 50-80k cars seems to be high-20's to 30/32k. 100k plus cars are still cracking value at c20k though....
If I were buying ine again I'd buy a 100k plus car and stick £10k in change in the bank!

im allways looking at the prices of 993's 6 monthe ago there would be typically 50-60 on the market at anyone time or at least advertised on here ranging from high milers at 13-14k up to 25k for a minter they where creeping up then, now there are 100-120 on here raging from 14 k upto 50k I sense people are trying to cash in on the rise but all the 25k up cars are on here for an age, look now at the 993 section and there are not many sold with more and more coming on each day surly the demand is not out there to sustain these prices.
The just get more and more appealing. I am biased as I have a 993 Garage Queen that I have owned for nearly eight years. I used it a lot during the warm spell of weather we enjoyed last week (was that summer?). Each time I got into it I just thought WOW. It apears the more modern my daily driiver gets, the greater the appeal of some air cooled Pork.
My Indy tells me prices are going up and up.

As Neil above says really, as a seller 8 months ago todays prices beg the question should I have sold it or did I sell too cheap ?
However asking and getting are 2 very different things
When I've tried to sell nice, low mileage 993's privately in the past, thereHowever asking and getting are 2 very different things
have always been very very few people who are interested, and even less who are actually prepared to travel & view the car.
I think the more expensive a car becomes, the more difficult it is to sell privately; most people would then prefer to go to a dealer who has the option of taking their part-ex & provide finance etc. IMHO
I don't see any change.
Low mile old cars always command a bit of a premium.
This is another lets talk up the value of my car again isn't it?

Regardless of relative performance I think they are really well put together and look fantastic. They're very easy to fall in love with which is why I went straight from my last one to another.
It's driven hard everywhere and will be really happy if I get my money back or make a profit in ten years.
If I don't, no big deal, I feel very cool driving it and it rewards a bit of talent

Good luck to 911 Virgin, to Paragon, to Portiacraft, to Northway and to anyone who has to deal with prospective 993 buyers.
If they are anything near as painful as the ones I've had in the past, I'd stick another £5000 on if i were you.
