The parade - change of venue

Announced in the paper this week that the parade will be starting from the main town square, La Place de la Republique, and not Les Jacobins in front of the cathedral. This is because of work in progress there for the new tram route going north of Le Mans. The tram will take you right there.

Thanks Lowdrag. Was there any mention of the venue of the "VERIFICATIONS TECHNIQUES"?

I haven't been since they first moved it to the Place des Jacobins a couple of years ago because of the theatre building work. I found it was too cramped to be enjoyable...

If memory serves, scrutineering is at the same place. As regards bars, there are quite a few in the main town square so I don't think you'll go thirsty. Please note that it starts at 17.30 hours, half an hour earlier than usual.

Guess its starting early to get people watching before Ukraine v France euro game kicks off at 18.00 (French time). I take it that the route's still the same just a different start/finish point so parade will still go through cutting at side of catherdral?

Some of the route is the same and yes they do come up the tunnel to the cathedral, but much of it has changed because of the roadworks.
