Chimaera Folding Roof REMOVAL??
Discussion
Hi guys, i am new to this well informed forum, i have to get my folding roof to my local trimmers to repair the plastic window stitching, after i accidently pushed it through (wot a dummy) It looks as though it may be fairly straight forward to remove, is there anything i should be mindful of e.g. any glueing of the hood to panels etc?
I have good mechanical knowledge, and a weel stocked garage, but sometimes its best to sound others out prior to jumping in.
Thanx in advance.

I have found a very good trimmer in Bristol, but he said if i could remove and take the roof in, it would be significantly cheaper, he quoted 160 + Vat if i took the car...
If it turns out to be too difficult i will take the car, but if i can save money that would be nice (can spend it on leven kit!!

Hi Shorty,
Im in Bristol and my chimaera is in Webbs in Nailsea presently having ther same job done. 195+VAT and they remove the roof and send it off for you. Takes between 3-5 days. Mine should beback next week as I am having one or two other little things done as well.

Thanx Obiwonkeyblokey, i have already spoken to webbs, they said the same as you. I have found an ancient trimming company called 'Krych' (huge ad in the yellow pages)in Bristol, they seem to be really good, and said if i took in the removed panel i could have it back next day. otherwise a 3 day turnaround and extra labour cost if i left the motor. turnaround time aint the issue as the Trev isnt my daily driver, but cost is... this month ive also got to tax my quattro, and swap the private reg, and keep the missus happy... aaargh could've done without putting my sausage fingers through the bloody stitching in the first place!
Ta anyway
