i have found this place after looking online for "upstairs at the grill" (famous steak restaurant in chester), and it is owned by the same people. Very, very excited, and the reviews looks great. Anyone been?

It is a very nice place, been a few times.

I'd recommend the All American XXXL Roadhouse burger or the Kansas Style 'BBQ Glazed' Spare Ribs (full slab of course). The full rack is huge though, I struggled to finish it and I have quite an appetite.

I went for the first time last week with work. I shared the Smokehouse Platter and it was immense.

We went in the day in the heat, so great food and great weather, brilliant way to spend a nice day.

On a side note Upstairs at the Grill is a cracking place. Had the best steak ever there.

Certainly is! I love the fact you just get a menu of cuts and sauces. Proper meat lovers paradise. Also those mahoosive machetes you get given!

Full rack, was ok. The sauce was very nice but I thought the ribs themselves were a bit on the tough side.
The gf had the Pulled Pork which was very good if a little sweet.

I don't think I have ever eaten in a restaurant off a chopping board and a army ration tin. But if the food is home cooked then sounds good.

We went there today off the back of this thread!

As it was our first visit, we went for the sharing platter. The food was great, we ate early so I think things had were coming straight out of cooking. The only criticism was that the sauce on the brisket was a little too vinegar-y.

We will definitely be going back, I want to try the steaks and the breakfasts.

all good then, i love a bit of american BBQ stuff, brisket, pulled pork and the like. Made pulled pork on Friday and it went down a storm with the fams'. Man vs Food has a lot to answer for!

lol @ Man vs Food! I've only just got Sky and discovered this programme. Ignoring the portion sizes, some of it looks delicious.

my thoughts. With the portion sizes and eating comps you could say it perfectly illustrates why obesity is an issue in the modern world.

I went to this place a few months ago, we had the ribs which were as some of the other posters had said a bit tough. BBQ seems to be one of the the most hit and miss cuisines in the UK.
Even in the US where you would expect them to have it nailed down ive had terrible BBQ along with the sublime...........mmmmmmmm bbq
