Sorryy!! What car?
Discussion
Sorry guys, this isnt my first one of these but each time I have actually gone and bought a car
The story is..
Im getting annoying with my Lotus, its got a few issues and I dont really fit in it very well. Its a 07 111R with a hard top. Its pretty nippy with 0-60 around 5 seconds.
Heres the brief:
Already have a 320d and a Pajero
Its a fun only car so practicality is of no concern at all
Insurance not a massive issue
Needs to be quick and handle well. I live in b-road territory.
Had an Impreza already so dont want a rally rep
Having some decent toys like nav etc is a bonus as I need to make up for not having the handling of a lotus somewhere
Not another Yank. My previous forray into american car ownership did not end well
I dont like french cars
Dont want a convertable
Nothing too old, say after 2000
Had a 330ci so dont want an E46 M3 as it would be quite similar
It shouldnt have loads of niggles so that rules out TVR, this is why im getting rid of the Lotus
Not a kit car (caterham / westy etc)
I'm a bit of a badge snob, cant help it, which rules out a Monaro/VXR8
Needs to be trade as I'm part-exing the Lotus
Not more than say 100 miles away from me (SN8 post code)
I'm really struggling! (and after reading the above, quite fussy!)
Obvious choice is 996 Carerra but im struggling to find one that isnt silver, is a coupe, has the 3.6 rather than the 3.4 (02 onwards i think) and not on mega miles for this budget. New shape XKR is just out of reach annoyingly but I quite like the look of them. E90 M3 is just out of reach too. A bit tempted by a 650i but they arent very quick. M6 might be out of range and looking at the real world mpg thread they do 8mpg urban!?
Budget around 18-19kish
I must be missing something obvious! (or im way too fussy)
Cheers guys

What about an Z4M coupe? Seems to tick most boxes, plenty within or well under budget too.

Lotus Europa?

Not inside your geographical window but it's with a well known trader:

Been reading up on the z4 m coupe. It seems to get mixed reviews but Im still tempted.
Anything else I havent thought of ?
Most of the negative reviews were regarding it's price new - and if anything that's now a bonus to you because of depreciation. The reviews (certainly the EVO one) also suggested the 3.0si version was a better buy, you could pick one of those up for even less.Anything else I havent thought of ?
