Comparing the audi a4 3.2 quattro cabriolet to the bmw 330i convertible, how come there is a massive difference in mpg? I understand the audi is a quattro but 10mpg difference..... Explanation anyone?

Because the official figures are all bobbins. The newer the car, the further the official and real world numbers move apart. They optimise the cars to produce good figures on the EU cycle, but none of them come close in day-to-day driving.

I bet the figures for those 2 cars driven by the same person are much closer than 10mpg.

Possibly true, 17mpg urban for audi and 26/27 mpg urban on the bmw is a lot though. Id have said more 14/15 round town in the audi and 20 with the bmw.
Dont know wether or not to look at getting the beemer instead "/

I had a 325i coupe/convertible thingy on an 07 plate. It did 20mpg urban. A few years back, I used to have a 330d on a 51 plate and that did 30mpg urban. In both cases, nowhere near the official figure.
