I have developed a minor but irritating rattle from the drivers door when the window is down, im pretty sure either the guide or window motor has loosened, and i would like to get at the offending fastener and tighten it! just one problem... how does the door card trim come off...other than those nasty plastic retaining clips you usually find. obviously i dont want to just prise it away in case tghere are hidden screws.

any help gratefully recieved!

(at risk of sounding like a eager newbie with lots of questions...tell me if i get irritating)

I did it recently and described it here ;

A search will bring out more.

Good luck.

Just checked the article, i dont have the ashtrays mounted in the door cards... so cant access the aformentioned screw points... i did wonder about this when viewing articles about the interior fittings, cos i thought all chims had ashtrays in the doors??

any thoughts?

Certainly sounds strange - have another look! Can you post up a pic of your door interior then?

You didn't get in the Audi by mistake did you?

It was an option to have a non-smoking car with no ashtrays.
