Hi all,

my 500 has suddenly developed a slight squeek from one of the fanbelt pulleys once it's warmed up. It seems to be coming from the pulley by the oil filler cap, which doesn't seem to drive anything.

Any ideas how to cure it? It's rather irritating, but I daren't just squirt some WD-40 in there!

Thanks
Jon

...unless it's a tensioner bearing going out

It seems to be the pulley itself rather than the belt slipping. It could be the bearings but why would it only make a noise when warm?

Yep mine did exactly the same thing. Doused the bearing in silicon lube and it's gone away. I guess with all the heat they just dry out.
Woth the talcum powder trick too though as those noises are pretty hard to track down!
