Rolls-Royce Meteorite engine - ???

Looking for info on this engine, I think it's just as likely called a Rover Meteorite engine as Rover built them (developed??) until 1964. It's basically a V8 version of the V12 Meteor tank engine (aka the Merlin from the Spitfire).

Google and Wikipedia seem a tad light on info, so hoping some insightful bod on PH has more info.
