I'm actually after some ideas.

Our company are looking to mailshot about 10,000 businesses over the next 3 months. What I want is an attractive photo to use for the advertising.

We are a recruitment company based in Cornwall. Initial ideas have been along the lines of 'take some time out, let us do some work for you' with a photo of a man in a suit on a beach. Sun in the background showing him in shadow.

Anyone got any better ideas?

Extreme Close Up of paracetamol. tagline "headache relief". Your company details in small print in lower left corner.

Cornwall makes me think of great waves. How about a gorgeous looking surfer riding the crest of a wave, with the strap, "Rise above the Rest with XXX Recruitment." Alternatively, positive looking person standing on cliff, looking out to sea with the strap, "The sky's the limit with XXX Recruitment". Bit cheesy that last one, but some people like cheese. It depends, as always, on your client and whether or not they are conservative or innovative in their thinking. Also depends, of course on your target audience. Just a few thoughts completely off the top of my head.

If you choose 'simply the best' I will have to kill you...

But a yes to the female surfer: women in the workplace, all the rage y'know. Might even get an EC grant for it!

I wasn't really thinking cheesy.

I was thinking more: Wish you were here?

I want the picture to be interesting. Something that people will want to look at. Want it to have some relation to Cornwall too.

Here we all like cars (or at least I think we do), so many of the pictures posted we look at in amazement. Why, not because they are pics of cars but because they are interesting.

What would the average businessman (woman) look at and think 'I like that'.

I suupose what I'm trying to say is, 'a feel good' picture.

What's the idea of the campaign? Is it to get people to want to move to Cornwall? Great place to live I would imagine, sunshine, beaches, countryside etc. but bugger all job opportunities! Perhpas you need to address this misconception in the advert? After all asside from Truro where else is there much commerce and business in Cornwall? I'd live there like a shot but as a software sales person there are hardly a lot of opportunites in the "West Country" territory are there Rich...

There are 2 Software companies that would employ sales people in Cornwall and another 2 or 3 in Plymouth. Not that it would help you, as their territories would undoubtably be further afield.

Re: where it is aimed.
We want to do a mailshot to businesses.
Problem is that most companies will bin anything that comes in the post like that.
The idea (if it works) is a postcard from our company showing other businesses how nice Cornwall is, hence 'wouldn't you like to be here?' (instead of being stuck in work doing something that XXXX Recruitment can do for you).
The hope is that some of the said businesses will actually keep the postcard. Something nice to look at 'n' all, then remember us when they do need to employ someone.

Hum, then perhaps a beach with a few people sunning themselves on it!

How about something like I've posted below... changing the beach for an empty beach in Cornwall - with the '?' version of the popular post card phase?

...and make it look like a postcard - text on the back?

Yep, that sort of thing.

Is it better to keep it simple or do something arty?

Cheesy I know, but my 2ps worth...

Some scenic evening/sun going down/ happy attractive couple enjoying drink at Lands End.

"Would you rather be at your wits end this week?"

[SmallFont] "If so, we can't help. Otherwise ABC recruitment..<Your slogan here>(for added gorganzolla - Take a rest, while we do the rest!)"

I'm on a roll now, have to stop before I'm supplying for sainsbury's
