70th Birthday Celebration. York(shire).

Afternoon,
It has fallen to me to arrange the 70th Celebration from my Dad in June 2012. He lives in York and we are wanting to do something as a family (17 in total, five children aged 11 to 3) ideally in York, or elsewhere in Yorkshire.
Somewhere with facilities for a private meal and 'something to do' aferwards. Ideally, something different.
Any great ideas are more than welcome...

Did help that my dad loved Heartbeat at the time, but everyone enjoyed it.
We then finished the day at Eden Camp

Difficult to know what does it for folks, but...
North Yorks steam railway did just great for us on my dad's 75th from Pickering.
They do a decent Sunday lunch as you chuff along, we filled one restaurant car.
