starting issues on a 4.5
Discussion
Guys, trying to help a friend out who is having trouble starting his 4.5 Cerb. Has been sitting around for a couple of weeks, so we have a booster pack connected to battery. Use key fob to de-arm alarm, but when we put the ignition on, there is no fuel pump noise, and it will not even turn over when we hold the start button. I cant check any ECU faults as my lead is not the right type for his newer ecu. Was thinking maybe the crank sensor issue?
Not sure - have you left the booster pack connected for a while, or tried boosting it from another car with jump leads? It might be so flat that the booster pack doesn't provide enough power to turn the engine over.
PS - I've been on the drink since early afternoon, so feel free to tell me I'm talking crap. I'm nearly as bad as Fubes in the DIY department.

Sounds like it could be our old friend the immobliser.May be the battery is really flat, but the pump should prime even on a low battery.Crank sensor may be the problem but i doubt it in this case.May even be the silver key has been moved a tad
Depends whether any of the dash lights light up? Could be silver key if there's absolutely nothing at all.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
