Given it's massive price premium, huge power advantage, flappy paddle gearbox and 4wd system, why would you even be surprised by this, let alone struggle to believe it? The less powerful Turbo S is faster off the line than a GT2RS for half of those reasons too IIRC....

3 laps of any world class track and as much as I love it the Lamborghini it wouldn't even have brakes let alone know which way the GT2 rs has gone!

Didn't Clarkson get brake fade (with ceramics?) at Monza in one?

TBH the Lambo should win (in a straight line), it has nearly 100hp more and 4WD. It'd be nice to see a rolling start however...

Correct so much for ceramics being the best brakes. Heavy cars struggle whatever brakes they're shod with!

No excuses from Ferrari or Porsche or Maclaren - the Aventador IS the benchmark in terms of modern day Supercars - end of.

Stunning visually and everything a Lambo should be. Awesome car IMO and the real top trump at the moment. Nothing from any manufacturer at this price point comes close as an overall modern day Supercar package.

Porsche doesn't offer a car at this price point ie £300k. Not sure Ferrari do either. Maccas much less too.

Even so, if you can afford £200k, you can afford £300k. Aventador trounces both the 458 and the MP4

how does the aventador stack up against a 599GTO?

Bad get away from the GT2RS (looks like too few revs and the car bogs down, then is off boost), but still, the Aventador looks epic!

When Chris Harris had a GT2RS and 599GTO at the 'Ring, he said the GT2RS felt significantly quicker... so I'd guess a 599GTO wouldn't see which way the Aventador went.

That's because you weren't driving the GT2 RS;)

In terms of straight line, the aventador is making mincemeat out of virtually all the mainstream crop of supercars.

As a package though, my impression from reviews are that it certainly isn't the favourite.

The aventador J is amazing though. Would like to see that in a straight line. Much lighter than coupe.

Got to put things in perspective. I know for a fact, on the narrow, twisty roads where I live a lotus elise would be more fun to drive than an aventador. Less drama, but much more fun! It would be massacred in a straight line, but it would still be more fun!
