Well as a loyal egg customer i have been dumped onto bloody barclaycard

They are st

So which card companies out there aren't st to deal with.

It is normally paid off monthly or has a small amount on it of a few hundred it is basically just as a small buffer and for online purchasing safety so don't need a HUGE credit limit or interest free

Just need a call centre and online management that isn't fking awful

Sainsburys Bank Card is my card of choice.

Online is easy to use, great customer service over the phone if needed (in Scotland), pro-active on the security side. Bonus if you're a Sainsburys shopper with the nectar points doubled for using the credit card.

Downside - not quite the 56 days you can get with other cards to pay off, it's usually 2 weeks from statement date.

I've recently been the victim of id fraud and have had to ring around various financial institutions. Vanquis, mbna,, capital one, were complete morons on the phone, vanquis particularly. They do not have the customer in mind at all. Steer well clear.

I use Captial One. Never had a problem with them at all and the online account is simple to use.

I think I've had it for about 8-9 years now and earn 1% cashback on all purchases which is nice given I clear it monthly. I tend to earn around £100-130 a year from it.

We've got an American Express Platinum Cashback card for monthly purchases (Food, fuel etc) and I have been impressed every single time I've had to call customer service. After the automated balance checking bit, the call always gets answered within 3 or 4 rings by a (UK based) human being. The call centre staff are very knowledgeable (never a case of I'll have to ask my manager about that) and you never get the feeling you're being rushed.

If that was on a credit card it's their legal obligation under the consumer credit act, not good customer service. If it was a debit card then it was it excellent customer service!

If you are a regular user of Amazon, you could try the Amazon CC, which is administered by Bank of America.

- no annual fees.

- you get a point for every pound you spend; once you get 1000 points, you get a £10 Amazon voucher.

- If you spend money on Amazon, you get 2 points for every pound.

- Cant comment on Interest rates as I pay my balance monthly...

Seems to be a pretty fair deal to me...

Interested to know why you say that - I've had a Barclaycard cashback card (like you, after my original card issuer was swallowed up by them) and have had no problems with in the 3 years or so that I've had it.

Also with Barclaycard with a cashback card, can't say I've got any complaints

Likewise. And IMO their online service is nicer to use than most others!
