What a crappy little note of an article. The "inventor" of the 911?

It is a shame, though, and no age for such a great mind to be lost.

Eh? I'd be chuffed to bits with either of those innings.

RIP Ferdinand Porsche.

I think it's one of those breaking news type footnotes that should have "details to follow" at the end.

You're correct - they've updated it, added more information and made it sound much less ill-informed. Nicer now.

Just me that's annoyed that they've included info on the latest 911 almost as if they'd be ordered by Porsche to advertise it a bit?

RIP Ferdinand in any case.

Very sad.

The only thing sadder is the idiots who are commenting on the linked site about Porsche's involvement with the Nazisconfused

It wont be long now until someone comes along with a witty comment about how Porsche may be forced to try and design a new 911 that doesn't resemble a Beetle.

He was involved, but this really is not the time and thread to discuss it...

(Quick - somebody post a pick of a 911 at full chat!)

I wish I could have that as a memorial noise - the sound of a million flat 6 engines...
