Evening all. I need your help...is it possable to track a tomtom that a knicked from my motor earlier this evening. I live in a quiet cul de sac with a cut through path opposite. the scum bag has to be an opportunist but probably walks past every day. Of course I left the car unlocked. I'm not looking for sympathy just this aholes head on a pole. The police are on there way as the thief left the mount behind and would have had to have pressed the button to release it. Hopefully fingerprints can be found. Im bloody furious

I dont understand why people leave these things in the car or on display.

Anyway, i know its no consoliation, but look on the bright side, the car was unlocked, meaning he/she didnt do a door bend or something similar to get in and cause damage to your motor.

I very much doubt the police will be dusting for fingerprints, they'll probably just advise you not to leave valuables in view or your car unlocked. I don't think Tomtoms can be tracked.

Which model, and was it registered to you on tomtom.com? IIRC some of the Live ones will kill themselves on command.

Csi been,police on there way.. I know it's my fault for leaving it open,no its not an slk. Just a fiat panda. The scum bag left my lenser torch and victorinox rescue tool which I'd have been really pissed if they had been knicked. Can ithe tom tom be locked it was registered on there website. Can't find any info after a quick look.

Buy another Tom Tom, Leave it in your unlocked car and hide behind a bush. If its someone that walks past all the time they may think xmas has come early, then you can spring them!!!!

Oh come on, car unlocked with expensive sat nav on the windscreen.... just asking for it really. Of course it shouldn't be that way but it is, so lock the car next time.

Not leaving valuables in an unlocked car would definitely help.
