Diagnose my finger pain
Discussion
Folks,
1st joint (nearest the knuckle) on my right hand middle finger has been painful to move for over 3 months now, keep meaning to make an appointment with the local gp but you know how it is, blokishly never getting round to it along with a slight feeling of bothering the gp with something so trivial.
Joint is sore on the side of the joint and there seems to be a bit of a hard lump there (v small). Mostly sore when pressure is applied from the tip of my finger, and during lateral 'twisting' movement (like opening jars).
Felt like it got slightly better when we had that period of good weather last week but is back to being sore again. Pain is barely noticeable during normal clenching and unclenching movement.
All other joints on other fingers are fine, not on any medication, otherwise healthy, 40yr old bloke, overweight. Don't smoke, rarely drink, take very little excercise.
