Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System
Discussion
Hi,
I have a 2002 996 C4S and I am considering replacing the standard cdr22 head unit (optical system & Bose speakers). My requirements are as follows: Navigation, Phone and iPod connectivity.
I would like to fit original parts; therefore, I believe I have the choice of 2 systems:
1)PCM 2
2)Porsche Classic Radio Navigation System. An example is shown here: http://www.porschehost.com/newsarticle.asp?opc=18&...
As I understand, I would be able to connect my iPod to the current head unit (cdr22) with a combination of these items:
http://www.solisto.de/en/solisto.iaux-becker
http://www.solisto.de/en/ipodiphone-chargeconverte...
With this setup the iPod is the user interface ie no control via the head unit.
Is this correct? Has anyone any experience of this setup. Would this iPod/iPhone solution also work with systems 1) and 2)?
Any help/advise on the pros and cons of each of the navigation systems and the ipod setup is greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Ryan
