Top Gear filming report

Trip to the Top Gear filming yesterday fairly mundane – sadly not a Porsche in sight. Cars on review were the £15-40 K - convertible brigade. Best of the bunch looked like the Audi S4 convertible 350 bhp from a 4.2l V8 – sounded good too on the clips. As I expected one couldn’t get to see the track or any cars with even their engines running.
Guest was Sir Ranulph Fiennes - and frankly he struck me as the kind of man England just doesn’t make any longer. Truly a Great Britain. Clarkson is a genuinely witty man off camera though his humor does appear to rely on the put down and snub rather than any genuine insight – and hell be dead soon because he smoked at least 20 fags during the afternoon.
That merc v12 was up from last week was up for the Stig treatment.
Curiosity value made the trip worth the effort but I would not bother if I lived more than 50 miles from Guildford.
