Anyone use a Driving Force GT wheel with a PC?

I was looking at buying a wheel play with on the PC but the G27 is a bit expensive considering it might not get that much use. I used to have a Driving Force EX, but that only had about 200 degrees of lock making the cars really twitchy and the force feedback motor broke fairly quickly too.

So has anyone tried using the Driving Force GT PS3 wheel on their PC (you can download the drivers off the Logitech website), is it compatible with most sims and easy to set up? Also, they do all come with a USB connector don't they, or will I have to get an adaptor?

I have a dfgt I use with gt5.

Comes with usb lead as standard.

Not used it with a pc.

I broke my first one with the ffb up high, drifting with sticky tyres. Emailed logitech, had a free replacement within a few days.

Haven't broken the replacement (over a year), and I do give it some stick.

For the money, you cant go wrong. Loud, but not too bad.

For sim racing it shouldnt break as you should be being smooth anyway.

I use mine with iRacing, GTR Evo, RFactor and LFS, and it really is a great wheel. The only criticism I could level at it would be the pedals. They are utter st, and it's such a shame as they really do hinder you in PC sims. I tried a friend's Fanatec wheel, and despite being a budget set up it saved me on average 0.5 seconds on my lap times, which given the fact I've had my DFGT for 12 months says rather a lot for the inadequacies of the Logitech pedals

Just add a bungy to the pedals, makes it a 100% better. Adjust tension to suit.

not tried this, but ive tried a sponge under the brake, that works well.
