Lack of traction - Video clip

Took the car around the local race track today....not me driving...but there was a report of serious lack of traction from the federal 595rsr..Andy(the driver) generally only drives on slicks so this will probably show in his driving style...we are going to put on some hankook Z214 or similar and try again...we thought it would be good to do a before and after with regards to different tyres and track times...

I am loving the HD hero camera so here is a vid of the lap...feel free to comment as its not me driving...

nb..the IC sprayer did a cracking job...it was a hot day and without any powerlss

its running at 390bhp at the moment as i recently put the T25's and smaller injectors back on the car...it just has an exhaust, Fuel pump, IC and cam timing....the boost is 1 bar but tailing off to 0.9 at 5500rpm..
It does pull well..and this is my old NM map...when it was running at 490 with the T28's and 650cc injectors the acceleration really was a handfull...that why cars with the GT25RS or GT28RS60 make the mind boggle, i think time goes backwards when you step into one of those...

Hi Chris , it does not look too bad , you need to get your rear wing re-fitted is you are serious about speed on the track , also wonder what tyre pressure are , could they have overheated ?? Tux

Can't see what the problem is really, for quick driving I'd say that's fairly normal amounts of slippage, get on with it and stop moaning!

Agreed, though a lot of them are now better! Factory didn't help with the continual development and ill defined model transitions.

I don't think there's much confusion between 3's, 3R's and M400's to be honest. A chap at work's got a Chinese copy of a watch that keeps better time that the one it copies. Doesn't make it real.

A chap on the best automotive forum in the world has a Cypriot copy of an M400. Traction is terrible though.

Hi m8...its for when people search on you tube...you will note on many clips i posted it says m12/m400..the search for a 3r on you tube makes the clips harder to find...don't worry the logbook has the correct model another M400 has not just come on the market....if you just type in noble then it brings up some comedian...i made it clear on the clip that the lack of traction is due to tyres and no detrement to the car..and it is not bad advertisement due to the fact that even with the traction issues it is was still the second fastest road legal lap for that track..it will be followed up by a clip with different tyres and traction which will be a circa 1min10 lap and will destroy the current lap record..its about the tyres and not the car..but yet the comes out of it looking good either way...

As for selling and advertising...when i talk to buyers i explain that i have spent a lot on upgrades and that the logbook says 3R...i was running at circa 500bhp for some time and only recently dropped back to 390bhp i did not deem in necessary to remove the stickers...

I am advertising bhp/ton and used the prefix M...i notice nobody said anything about Simons M490 stickers again using the M prefix.....so what if it is a GTO3 on the logbook..PeterGUk bought the proper M500 stickers and centre caps etc..from turbohoses for his car...its a m12 with a M400 engine and called a M500...things like that really do not bother me hence i hold true to the same values...

The tyre pressures were way too high Simon..it was 21psi front and 26 psi rear on that clip( when cold)....i took it back out today with 18psi front and 21 psi rear and was much more grippy and well behaved..but i got a bit over zealous and munched one of the marker cones and spat it back out at a GT2. which was following...but it was me captain slow driving so i was well off pace...i agree that maybe downforce is playing a part also...but Andy the driver seemed adamant that there would be plenty of mechanical grip with better tyres...so we will put the BF Goodrich and see what happens..

The difference is though is that there never was a M490 or M500 model so it's obvious that the car has been altered, which is completely different to someone describing a car as an M400 (or M600) when it isn't.

So why does your advert state that it's a "Top of the range M400 Model", and why does your logbook says it's a 3R - I thought it was originally a GTO 3?

It is a 3R..always has been..i am not changing my stickers to M340..lol...i change my power too often....i can see it bothers some people but i guess the majority who are not skeaking up it doesnt bother...most people just enjoy the car the videos and work i have done..some people are live and let live..some are not...
why do u call yourself daisy duke? are you the real daisy duke?..lol..its not an issue...the car is a 3R but i have GTO 3 alloys...i have crappy classic style clocks...i have M400 side scoops. copy AW aero mods and some unique aero mods..plus many other unique and custom 1 off mods..its way off a M400...but its also way off a 3R...

I try to play a constructive role on these forums...if somebody posts about modifying there car i pay compliment...but it seems i only hear from you Daisy when there is an oppotunity to poke me...so seen as though it bothers you..i think i will keep it as it is...

The only thing that bothers me is people bringing the Noble name into disrepute. You seem to have a selective memory, as I have posted, quite recently in fact, agreeing with you regarding some things, yet you get very defensive whenever I ask a simple question, so maybe it's you who has the issue? The reason I ask about your car is that, as you must have seen, I have asked multiple times for people to let me know if the information I have on the register is incomplete or wrong. If people don't, then I can only go on what information I have on their car. Surely it's not surprising that I assume that anyone who isn't forthcoming (and would know about the register) must have something to hide? So I have your car as a GTO 3, if you'd like to prove to me otherwise, I'll happily update the register.

Ok its a Gto3 daisy....u can list it as a mini metro if u want...i dont see how you can request people to check the register but yet do not allow them access..i assume its on the Noble parts? where i registered but when i tried to log in access was denied..
Daisy..i have no beef with you...but it seems you do not hesitate at any opportunity to oppose me..

Well to be M500 properly u should be 550bhp..but the M400 was never really 400bhp/ton so whats the difference....but if u chose can even buy the proper M500 badges and centre caps for about $300 from hoover
