2 seats.
No more than 40,000 miles on the clock (personal, but that's how I like them).
Manual
Petrol
Convertible
6 cylinders or more
Full history

At the Moment, I'm torn between a Boxster S or a 450 or 500 Chim.

Problem with the Box is 987's are now only a few k more...

Suggestions welcome.

Similar situation to me!

How about a Z4 or maybe an Alpina S - 11k for one and maybe a bit leggy though.

Agree with the boxster issue - a 987 is just so tempting for £3k more!

Had a Z4 (3.0). Really nice, but want something different - and not to have 3 BM's in the garage!

If it was an only car would say Boxster S, but seeing as it obviously won't be it has to be a TVR of some description. Chim gets you a better sorted example at the money than the Griff, so that's what I would go for nice dilemma to have though

Have emailed about this asking for a couple of pics of the chassis and the details of the service history. They called and said it was all "fine", and I said great, if you can email me before I drive 4 hours to see it... Nothing.

Like the SLK 530, but tend to be auto and manuals are hard to shift (we had one, nice car though).

For me, I think it'd have to be a TVR with those criteria and the rest of your garage. driving

Have Tamoras fallen into that price bracket yet? If no, then a Chim; if yes then possibly still a Chim depending on how paranoid you are about the Speed6.

Something like a V8 Westfield might be an interesting left-field choice.

Don't think my paranoia could stamd a speed 6. (glol, coming from someone who runs a P38 RR!)

V8 Westie was discussed but rejected as a little too impractical for a weekend away (I have had 2 Westies).

That looks lovely and has super low miles and great plate. Don't let their tardiness put you off. Be persistent, I had to mail the guy I bought my current E36 off several times before he pulled his finger out, but ultimately got good service and a cracking motor. Maybe it's an Easter thing, giving the Dealer benefit of doubt. Good idea to post a What to look for in TVR section, over the obvious chassis riggers etc if you don't already know. I constantly change my mind between Porker 993 and Chim for my next purchase..

Let me be the first to play the American card then (in before 300 wink )
For 10k you'll get a lot of car in a Mustang/ Camaro/ Firebird. And the latter two are also available with T-tops as well as cabriolet.

A Cobra replica might be another option? Think you can get a reasonable one for around the 10k mark? It'd be Rover V8 based at that price, but that's not necessarily a bad thing; they make a lovely noise.

S2000 or MX5, if you can live with having 2 cylinders less that is. smile
