Any recommended airshows in the US, particularly NorthEast?
Discussion
Anyone (Damien?) know of any "must sees" over this side of the pond? The Sea Vixen thread reminded me that the season's just starting up and, having lived in Edinburgh for the last 6 years before coming over to the US, I missed out on easy access to all the mainstays from my Reading days (RIAT, Duxford, Cosford, Old Warden etc).
I'm in Boston so New England would be ideal, but if there's a blinder somewhere else that I could maybe tie into a holiday, that would be cool.
(I should probably reinvest in a 400mm again too

)I went to the Boston-Portsmouth Air Show a couple of years back, that's at the old Pease AFB in Portsmouth, NH. It was pretty good, saw the Blue Angels and there was a pretty decent aerial display line-up. As you're in Boston the Rhode Island Air Show is worth a visit too, I've not been to that one but it seems to get pretty good reviews, and the Thunderbirds are displaying this year. There's also the Great New England Air Show at Westover ARB in MA, I didn't make it to that one last time due to traffic but again I've heard it's pretty good. They don't really compare to RIAT, for me at least, as they obviously don't have anywhere near the numbers of static aircraft or display variation, but I'd still recommend a visit.

Outside of the North East Nellis AFB Open House is definitely worth a visit if military aircraft are your thing, they normally have pretty much every current USAF aircraft in attendance.
