Clutch Adjustment - Need a Qucik answer!
Discussion
I'm installing my new slave cylinder now and have a quick question. (280i, 4 speed Ford)
The shaft between the slave piston and the clutch folk is adjustable in length. As set from before, it pre-loads the clutch about 1/2 inch. Is that correct or should it be set differently?
Thanks Grady

My Wedge is a cable clutch, but worked on a quite few hydraulic ones (Triumphs mainly)
As far as I know, the typical slave cylinder just 'floats', so that it is pushed back only by the clutch plate springs. There is no obvious clearance like there is with a cable clutch.
This way there isn't much lost motion when you press the pedal.
I reckon therefore you should set the length so that it just takes up all the slack ...but that's just my best guess.
