I wouldn't buy a ZR and expect a car that'll last and be reliable.

Yes, for every tale of woe there'll be a chorus of praise but on my own experience of them, I wouldn't. I owned one eight years ago and I fail to see how those eight years will have made it better. They were crap to start with, they'll be crap now.

Edit to add: That particular car is hideous. I'm sure it'll be a fun drive, they do have that going for them. Cheap too but I'd invest elsewhere.

Go for it, I can't help you with info on the previous owner. Cracking little cars for the money, although as mentioned erlier be aware of the reliability issues. A HGF could cost a few £*00.

Although if your missus is getting bored of her current Rover 25, I'd expect its the 83hp version. Changing the throttle body for an Mg Zr 105 one will put her car up to 103hp. This could keep her interested for a while.

Edit: Just re-read the title and realised your talking about a Zr 160. I'd recommend buying one that has already had the head gasket done and has been replaced with a later updated version. These are a lot better than the originals.

Loos pretty smart for the money. I would be asking why the engine was rebuilt and are they standard rear lights. Look a bit strange to me.

Rear lights are Trophy lights so OE. Check on the engine rebuild, probably just a HGF and head skim. Buy it and have fun, if the HG goes again there are plenty of specialists who'll do it for circa £300 which isn't too wallet crippling.
