SSH and Windows XP.

Any of you guys cast thoughts on what I'm doing wrong.

I've installed putty.exe on my laptop (XP - HOME) but it just imesout before getting a login onto my server.

I've installed it at home (XP -PRO) all o.k.

Anybody suggest anything obvious or any funny setting on XP home that may stop ssh working?

Shouldnt be anything OS specific, possibly its a Firewall / Inbuilt Firewall on Home which is stopping it working..

OR, could it be that your PRO machine is the Gateway (directly connected to the internet) whereas the HOME machine is connecting via ICS or some Net Sharing Application. And its simply not forwarding port 22.

Would be my first thoughts.

I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the port forwarding, so I've switched off firewalls etc, but still no joy.

Will keep digging.
