I did my Cerbs one last Monday much the same as the Chims. It was not as bad as every one makes out but is a few hours work.

I dropped the pedal box down and pulled the tank off this let me get to the pipe work and in turn get it out.

The best Bit is i changed for no reason other than i am a idiot forgetting the Cerb has 2 bleed nipples per caliper due to 2 and 4 pot brakes DOH!!!! I was just trying to bleed the brakes after winter job's.

Any way i bought my new one from a motor factors for 62 quid it is off a xr2i like the chims 22.2 mm bore.

That is great, thank you both very much for all your help. I have sweet talked my Dad into giving me a hand. Yes there should be a h in my name, but when I joined the website I was in a state of shock and panic after wheeling out my TVR after the winter and finding the brakes were not as they should be, even after I (with the help of my long suffering Dad) had done all the usual checks. So spelling was the last thing on my mind. Thanks again

I did it a different way, brake master cylinder can be done from above, cut the silicon and pull off the resovoir (very hard pull), you will then see all the union nuts you need without having to take all the other parts off.

As above, no need to move pedal box.

OP, are you sure you need to actually need to replace it ? is it leaking ? it has it's own bleed nipple if it's a case of air in the system.
