Does anyone know how to get that fantastic smell of leather back?

I tried "Turtle Wax" Leather cleaner, but it hasn't made any difference.

Is it possible to get back that wonderful smell?

Zaino leather conditioner smells better and also LTT do a small bottle of stuff you put onto a makeup pad and leave it under the seat.

Not be honest though, every car has its own unique smell exclusive to the brand, so if the "Aston" smell had gone, there's little you can do to bring it back.

Without buying any product and assuming you have a secure garage; give the leather a good wipe with a clean rinsed cloth and then crack the both windows. Clean the carpets properly then leave the car to air for a week or two and it will bring back that fresh leather smell in no time.

Liquid leather also do an air freshener. I used to put one under the seat of my old Jag S-Type, worked a treat. Used to salivate when I got in every time it smelt SO good!

It does smell like the leather chesterfields they put in nursing homes. Or old jags. But its a familiar leather smell

don, what year is your car? I would hate to lose that leather smell! Every time I get into my car, that smell renews my excitement for the car and going for a drive in it.

Another vote for Liquid Leather here. I use it on all my cars, both the cleaner and the conditioner. Keeps the leather looking and smelling new.

It's a 2007. The smell seems to have disappeared over the last year.

I washed the seats, doors, dash and steering wheel this morning. Some of the old smell is back - so a big thank you!

I also popped out to Halfords this afternoon, but they don't seem to stock the Liquid Leather. I shall wait a few days and see if the situation improves further. If it doesn't, then I shall order the Liquid Leather over the internet.

Thanks for all the replies.

You can get Liquid Leather at certain dealers. I think Bentley dealers stock it, and I have definitely bought some at Saab in the past. There are others, but I can't think of them. Possibly Jag. Or order online. I like shinearama.co.uk.

Is this the same stuff you're talking about?
http://www.amazon.com/Gliptone-Leather-Conditioner...

How long does the scent last?

I use Griot's Garage Leather Care every few months and and Interior Car Scent: "Leather" in between cleaning/conditioning. They smell really good, but the scent doesn't last very long.

I also use Leatherique about once a year.

yes Gliptone is the stuff

smell lasts a while, depends on use really ...the often throw in a free air freshener - stick it under the seat, it smells of "leather"
