Had the Tam checked at SRR yesterday, the reading came out about 45 BHP (305 at the crank) down on what we expected. He said the fuelling looked okay and the engine sounded okay but fealt a bit 'strangled'. I'm looking for ideas - anyone got any suggestions? The car has only done 15000 miles.

Help - before I decide to put an LS3 in it

All normal stuff, but when was it last serviced, is the airbox is good condition (along with filter), exhaust in good condition etc?

As you're local, when my Tam comes back you can see what an LS3 engined one is like!

LS3 thats the way I'm going in the winter. I'm in the process of sorting various technical details out with various people before I order the engine and gearbox.

Don1 did you do the conversion yourself? or did you use a specialist??

Don1 Let me know when its due back - I'd like to have a look and chat about issues etc.

Thos of you that suggest melted/collapsed cats. The simple solution would be to go decat, but what do you do about the MOT?

You could always have the cats hollowed out or the replacement pipes made to look like cats. An MOT tester would be non the wiser.

That's not the issue, its the emissions.

OP, finding a friendly MOT tester would be the best method.

cats sounds like the obvious answer, why not have a chat with someone like jason @str8six, and have a health check, or do it yourself if mechanically minded, check tappets, set throttles and adaptives ect, possible leak down test?
do you know anyone with a spare set of cats you can borrow, or just go the decat route if you don`t mind the extra noise.
