Car 2009 Nissan Xtrail

Had a leaking slave cylinder which also broke the clutch. Both replaced under warranty.

Got car back yesterday and the clutch pedal had loads of play in it - only the last 1-2" actually had any 'bite' to it. For the majority of the press there was no resitance. After driving the car and parking up, the pedal action seemed ok the next time I used it.

Fast forward to today and the pedal is back to hardly any 'bite' and the clutch has some judder to it.

Any ideas what this may be?

Given how poor the dealers were fixing this the first time round and how long it took, I'm not massively impressed that the car isn't right.

Air in the system. It's not been bled properly. I'm willing to bet if you pump the pedal a few times it gets better and then worse again when you stop.

Thanks

Just been out to try and pump the pedal but feels ok after the last drive.

Will take it back on Tuesday when they open......given they took 2 weeks to sort last time with no courtesy car I''m pretty peeved!

Took the car in today (pre-booked with them last week to be looked at (day booked off work to sort it) and garage wouldn't look at it as it hadn't done 1k miles since clutch / slave cylinder fit.

The clutch is working better but still has an intermittent issue with lack of pressure on the pedal and there is a slight judder now when setting off which wasn't there before.

Before I complain and make a fool of myself are the garage right with what they are saying?

Cheers

Smells like bullst to me. A clutch should work 100% from the moment it's fitted, anything less and there's something wrong.

Thats fairly normal after a clutch change, drive it for 200 miles and see if theres still a problem imo.

Thanks. A mixed response then.

I have done 200-250 miles since the new clutch and things have improved......just still have times when I get in the car and there is hardly any feeling in the clutch pedal. Assumed this was a fault given I've never had it on a new car I've bought.
