hi neil,
how are you must be a couple of years since we have spoke.car is a 1970 but no idea if a 2 or 3 as i don't know how to tell.I have a box of bits all be it large, it does have some pieces missing which i need to collect but i have only just started thinking about it and want to get a feel for parts availability.I was thinking of turning it into a racer but it has a round tube chassis i was told a while back would be no use on track.

if that is the car in question then it looks like a late servo'd S2 Vixen.how are you must be a couple of years since we have spoke.car is a 1970 but no idea if a 2 or 3 as i don't know how to tell.I have a box of bits all be it large, it does have some pieces missing which i need to collect but i have only just started thinking about it and want to get a feel for parts availability.I was thinking of turning it into a racer but it has a round tube chassis i was told a while back would be no use on track.
Everything is available, original to wildly modified. just depends on what you want to do with it.
Vixens make very nice track cars although they will never beat elans in same class...You would probably clean up in Class C of the Tuscan challenge in one ??

Shell looks very tidy Perry.
Its an early Servo S2. First 70 odd S2's non servo, Later ones adopted TR6 pedal box and servo.. The flat bulkhead with metal bracket bonded in pre-dates the moulded battery tray. About 400 odd S2's were made, The commonest of the variants but the most desirable
It looks a nice project. You need not worry about parts availability.

Can all help with bits.
Have you got a pic of the chassis? The one on the wall looks a bit peculiar??

neil,
thanx for the info at least i know what i'm dealing with now and good to know parts are available.I,m impressed you noticed somethink wrong with the chassis thats because that is a chassis jig for a tuscan challenge car the vixen chassis is behind that leaning up against the wall.all looks good with that and in powdercoat.I think i will build it up for the road, drive it around for a while get bored of it then convert it to a track car.I hear what you say about class C but i'm peddling this beauty i have only just finished for a season or two.....
