Considering becoming a 959 owner
Discussion
Hi guys
I was a huge fan of the 959 when I was younger, and always dreamed of ownership but never thought I would be able to afford it. Suddenly, though, an affordable one has turned up:

Looks pretty sweet - and as the man says, not only is it runnig a good engine, but once restored it will be worth over 140,000.
140,000 what I wonder? Tesco school vouchers?!

I have £4,500 and Im almost tempted. Most of the tat will come off quite easily, I think and a 915 3.2l makes an ideal base for a backdated car.
The real question has to be whats it like mechanically, as most of the cars like that, that Ive seen, havent been cherished and the people seem to value bling over maintenance.

We have since had the pleasure of purchasing and breaking the afore mentioned BEAST.
To be fair the engine and box are sweet, but the 3000 kg kit may affect the power to weight ratio somewhat.
The proportions of the kit to be fair looked pretty good. A bodyshop owner know has the shell to play with in his own time...
