As you may or may not of seen on here last year I wrote my Mk2 1.8 off frown

I have spent the last 10 months or so in a 1.6 Focus and keeping my eye out for another '5 (NA or early NB to keep price low).

The idea of an early one went out of the window on Sat when I saw this...

1.8 S-VT Sport, 6spd, 49k miles and the usual toys. Had a look around it, arranged the part ex and the finance now I just have to wait for the money to come through so I can go pick it up cloud9.

Only thing I'm dubious about is the fact it was raining so I didn't take the H/T off to check the roof frown

Love it.

I had one in the same colour for a while and I do miss it. It was a perfect car and looks great in BRG.

It's a 51 so will have a vinyl roof so there is potential for it deteriorating above the windows but hopefully if the car has a hardtop the soft top won't have had a hard life. Also worth looking for a small hole on the soft top about 6 inches behind the drivers head.

Don't forget Cambelt change due at about 54k miles.

Thanks TVR MAN. I intend to have a good look over the roof before I actually sign on the line, it was raining at the time so I didn't want to start taking the H/T off.

How much will a Cambelt change cost?

Cambelt change should be circa £170

Cheers Jimi that's not too bad. Knowing the room there is in the front I'd be half tempted to look at a DIY job nuts

So they are the same as mine. Just asking 'cos I was thinking about tyre choice cost Most people seem to run 14/15in not the 16s.

They take 205/45/16 tyres. Quite pricey when you compare them to the 15 inch tyres but they do look good!

I'm noticing alot have low mileage, last one was 47k on a 99V and this ones 49 on a 01/51. on the upside means we get some bargain low mileage cars biggrin

And cheers TVR that's what I was after, some varying prices depending on where you look!

These are the tyres most will recommend on the MX5 forums and Camskill is probably the cheapest place to get them.

thumbup exactly what I was looking for (had the 15in version on the last one) and they are £20 cheaper than the other place I found them. Should be able to get a few months use out of the current set before they need it.

Always helps to have these thing planned for though...

Lovely looking car, I have exactly the same except mine is Black (and has done over 80k). My vinyl roof has started to split over the windows where the fold is when its down.

Enjoy!! :-)

Well I have collected it this morning biggrin

It needs a little work on the paint (a few little scratches) but nowt nasty

Cambelt was done 3k miles ago

Hardtop has been removed and the soft top (vinyl) looks like it has spent 90% of its life stowed away, great condition.

Last owner was apparently an old gentleman who flogged it due to ingress/egress issues, only did 3k miles last year (49.5k in total).

A bit of rust right on the end of the drivers cill is the only rust I've seen and the biggest flaw I have found so far is the standard CD player doesn't seem to like copied CDs frown

cant really complain at that - seems like it is in mint condition! my sills are probably gonna need doing this time round which depresses me. maybe get an audiolink thing from mx5parts and then you don't need to worry about the dodgy cd player?

It certainly seems that way biggrin. Tried it with a few other discs and it appears to only take a dislike to some rolleyes can live with it smile

I hear alot about rust, mate is on about rustproofing his Discovery, I may have to hijack some of it wink

Oh and pics...
