Wasn't the BMW 1M a pretty limited run?
I believe BMW sold them all quite a while before they started building the things.

I wish they were all as reliable as I'd have my OH in one now. Nice cars.

The new shape Saab 9-5 shame it couldn't rescue Saab from oblivion.

Current Impreza is generic hatchback. I wonder if the comedy handling (by its standards) when it first came out has put people off as well.

I've not seen a saloon version on the streets even though its on sale.

Used to see a quite a few VX220 when they first came out. Doesn't seem its dated well judging by how often I/you see it these days.

309 Gti should have been on the list since the beginning. It was a great car. Silverstone used to use them for passenger rides. The instructor gathered one up from an absolutely unrecoverable angle. I was amazed.

Honda Insight.

Fiat Coupe

And Saab 9-5 also worthy contenders.

I'd also like to add Fiesta RS Turbo. A much more impressive car than the stronger selling Mk 2 Escort RS Turbo was.

Suzuki Swift 4wd Saloon, 1.6 16v lump (at the same time the swift GTI had a 1.3 16v motor) and if it was around 3/5 years later than it actually was would have been a great junior Impreza.
