Where has Wildfire gone?
Discussion
Hi Guys
Sorry I've not been online for a while, I'm, off work with illness (doctor's orders) and don't have the net at home. I'm currently in Manchester staying with the gf.
Lots of politics going off at work at the moment so things are pretty stressful and hectic, and to put it succintly I'm not allowed back in work at the moment.
Also I seem to have a perpetual exhaust leak. I reckon the manifolds have had it.
They were badly crushed by whoever fitted the previous exhaust system. So bad that they are proving a problem to get a good seat beween the new down pipes and them. Basically the edge has rounded off and the downpipecan rock in the manifold.
I have std sized pipes on my system, but I think the inner diameter (indide the box) has been made smaller to compensate.
When the exhaust was "working" it was very loud. After a few hours on the motorway you actuall got riningin in the ears. The car has a tendancy to resonate at 3000 revs as well. But it has gone quiet since I the manifolds started leaking again.
But I'm very pleased with the system, before the maniflods died on me. I'm going to try putting some mufflit around the joins. But it looks like it will be new maniflods next. And I wanted the "Podie" Unichip.
P.S
There is a Penninsula system in the Classifieds.

Hi Chris,
Glad to hear that you are OK but sorry to hear that you've been poorly and that work is not a happy place to be at the moment.
Bit of a bummer about your manifolds too having just fitted the new system. I saw that Penninsula system and I also called him but he seems a little less than keen to sell it to me, favouring a more local buyer and there were some other bits I said I'd buy but he had sold them to someebody else. The one he has was on his car 2 years and he wants £150 for it possibly more if he gets a higher offer and I don't fancy driving to Royston and finding that it's either gone or the price has jumped up, so I'll leave it and have mine refurbished for around £30 to £50. Mine's basically in good nick so should be OK.
I hope you feel better and are fully recovered soon.
Keep logging in!
Take care mate,
Kevin

Err hang on a minute, I had no idea of the value of the exhaust and someone offered me £150 for it, isn't that market forces? Also I think it cost well over £300 new.
Being realistic I am not going to hang around until the weekend on the offchance someone may turn up and make an offer when I have got someone saying I will give you the cash here and now. I also kept Kevin up to date as soon as things were sold so there was no danger of a wasted trip.

I tend to respect that if someone wants something and asks first then I'll give them reasonable time to collect or arrange delivery without going back on what I said. You gave me your address and I said I would call you in the morning to let you know an accurate time of my arrival but it's OK Chris I can re-arrange my weekend again, don't worry about it. At least I didn't start out on my journey to collect them only to find that someone had turned up and made an offer earlier that day.
