Hi all,

I need the pop-out roof section for a Chim and have called all the usual suspects - Bell Hill, Douglas Valley and so on but nobody has one.

Any ideas? Oh and please don't mention any companies in the general North East area of the country.

Cheers

Have you lost it? Is it broken? Chipped? Whats with the original one?

The original, having happily done several hundred miles in place on the motorway, decided to make a bid for freedom and blew-off at about 80mph on the M6 a couple of weeks ago (...early morning - mercifully there was nobody behind me). The front seal had failed, but whether or not this contributed to the roof blowing out I've no idea...

I didn't fancy a long stop on the shoulde so afte a brief stop and a fruitless quick scan I carried on the rest of the journey thinking that surely it couldn't be that hard to find one :/

the same thing happened with mine at 190kph. mine got run over by a truck and the police came and etc etc but thankfully no one was hurt.

It took me a month before i found one. Only one from a known salvage yard who assured me it was in good nick. Well after agreeing to buy it I waited 3 weeks for bank details, never got a tracking number to follow delivery, couldn't get anyone on the phone and finally 250 pounds later (plus postage to germany) it came and was a Tamora roof, send it back wait longer then get a Chimaera roof in what can only be described as broken condition. Still it was better than no roof at all and quite frankly I couldn't be bothered to talk to that company again (who also never answered phones, or the boss wasn't there or "I'm just the mechanic mate, I don't know" answers.

I wish you all the best of luck mate. If you can go back and look for your roof, I can only advise to do so. the fiberglass can be patched, re-trimmed and the inside quite frankly can be painted or covered with stickyback carbon effect. A lot of work but with my experience it will be cheaper, faster and better condition than whats available second-hand.

I was just going to say that. I was looking at these the other day. Got a lot to do on mine still to get it up and running in one piece so the surrey roof is on hold for me. From the reviews i've been reading they look and seem great !!! Plus more space in the boot.

I think it's cambria cirrus that i saw that were doing it. If you google that it might be worth the upgrade. I know i'll be doing it next year !
