Cuba this summer?

Any thoughts on Cuba as a family (the kids are mid-late teens) holiday?

It's not as cheap as I thought it might be and there are some horrible reviews of places on Trip Advisor (oddly, mostly from Canadians - Do they get mistaken for Americans, I wonder?), but it looks a good mix of things to see (Havana) and an exotic(ish) location for a holiday, without breaking the bank or needing a lottery win.

I'd also like to do a bit of diving whilst I'm there.

Any experiences, especially at Varadero?
