Hi All,

im considering changing the top supercharger pulley to one of the smaller types and want to know if anyone has done this? Is there a difference to be had and is there any reliability issues that need to be considered?
any info would be appreciated before parting with my hard earned.........

cheers

Yes it will give more power, more the bottom / mid range, higher up not so much differance

The engine ECU will cope with this in regards fuel etc

I see you are somewere in Hampshire, can I suggest getting it done at TLJaguar (0118-976-2899) they can also upgrade the ECU at the same time for a better midrange power curve

Thank you for the reply MrD,

is this something you have had done or have you experienced a car that has had the upgrade?

ideally if there is anyone out there that has had the work done i would like to compare the difference side by side with my unmolested R'.

i will have a chat with TJ's regarding cost etc, see if the results outweigh the cost!!

cheers

Norman is being coy - his car is unlike any other XK.

Pulley - its the best mod you can do for the money. The difference in low down pull is superb, it will feel like you have an extra 50hp at the 2000-3000 rev range.

At the end of the day, all it does is spin up the pressure from the charger at a lower rev. The boost isnt much higher, but it becomes much more playful at low revs. My traction cuts in alot more often with the pulley!!!!!

I had the bottom pulley done rather than the top, as i didnt want to cut the nose on the supercharger. Also the bottom pulley creates less angle on the belt than the top, so there is less chance of belt slip. Had mine done by Phoenix Coachworks in Devon
