hi there.
still an issue with regards to corrosion around tailgate handle; i have had 2 GL's...one fine, the other had the inital tiny bubbles forming; Mb took care of it without any fuss though.
ensure air suspension works fine; check it goes to each level and returns to standard height on request...
also, google the MB known fault on the gearbox software / transmission conduct plate located in the transmission gearbox oil sump..it has a reasonable failure rate and it expensive to replace outwith warranty.. if the gearange is jerky or holds onto the gear till high revs when warm, it is the most likely problem...first thing MB will carry out is a £300 transmisssion fluid change, even if in warranty, even if highly suspecting it is this known fault; it then all has to be removed again to replace this plate as it is located in the sump.
ensure electric folding 3rd row of seats work perfectly, and the handle and mechanism in 2nd row entrance seat works perfectly including drivers seat moves forward automatically when this procedure starts.
apart from that, they are a great 7 seater...this is my 2nd, and it shall be replaced by another GL when time comes... they are so rare on the roads that the facelift model shouldn't hit residuals too badly as there isn't a massive change; most people wont even notice.
