I think it is over priced as you can buy a ajp car for that money if it was sub 9k it would be a good buy if it is in good condition on the underside that is. If tuned well it should make north of 320bhp and will have the same torque as a ajp but much lower down. At least it kept a Cerb on the road i guess.
I'm glad it's been kept on the road, but just 20 miles away there is this example for sale

It's people like this who are devaluing our Cerbs!! That's way too cheap even with the small problems it has.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280858106100
Unlike the Rover powered one, he'll be pushed to get £10k for it!

Well that's f
ked the values up completely! I've been hovering around the (awful) possibility of having to sell mine to sort out my finances. It looks like I wouldn't even get enough back to pay off the loan I took out! On the other hand it does strengthen the argument to keep it!
as cerbera owmers u might not want read this, but surely somethings only worth what someones willing to pay for it, not what you want it to sell for. As someone who's been looking for a decent cerb for the right price for months now, i can tell you the vast majority are not selling for what people are asking for them, the cars on pistonheads and ebay have been for sale for ages, there is no doubt in my mind that if they reduced the prices they would sell. heres my dilema i will pay upto £10K for a decent/sorted cerb, but people are asking £13.5K for a 1998 when i can buy a v10 m5 for £14K, i think i'd rather have the m5 for everyday usability, as i want to use the car everyday, i think other people are thinking the same. For something that is renowned for being unreliabe, the current prices, in this economic climate are in my opinion a tad too high.

A sorted car will be hard to find for 10k, Not impossible but hard I have spent around 2/3rds of that just tidying mine up and i am not alone these cars can be expensive to live with that's why i think the prices are reflective of what they are, Not to mention how rare they are now. Sure you can buy better faster cars for much the same price but it will never be a Cerb and 10-15 years down the line it still wont be a Cerb or look as cool

My advce is, if you can find a good Cerb for 10 K ..... buy it... but i think you will have to pay a little more.

dont get me wrong, i love the cerbs and think they are the coolest car around, but i want to use it everyday, only for short jorneys, i only take the kids to school down the road, go down the beach a mile by road to check the surf out and the odd blast every now and again, its just that the higher priced ones are too close to more suitable cars, and even then the higher ones don't guarantee thats its not going to brake down on you, under £10K i can live with it being tempramental, over that then i want something that wont break down on me.
They arent selling for a reason, petrol prices are going thorough the roof and people are being sqeezed left, right and centre financially, i think if people adjusted the prices downward "slightly" then they would sell, i know one would sell for a fact because i would buy one!
this 2003 has been on ebay a couple of times with no bids at £12K http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-TVR-Cerbera-4-2-Red-Cream-Leather-very-late-model-/150796317780?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item231c293454
yet this one close to me 1998 is 13.5K and has been for sale for ages http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/3399238.htm
trust me if this was around £10K it would be on my driveway now covered in my drool

I dont think i could live with mine as an every day car.... i d sell it and get a M5
The AJP does nt like short start stop journeys, and i think bits might start dropping off the car quicker than you could fix them.
Mines a Summer weekend toy.. ( but i do use it on the odd nice winters day ) and that suits the car just fine.

Sqeezypeas are you for real? Or maybe trolling? I think you may be in the wrong forum, you should be in the Chim forum (no disrespect to Chims but there are a lot of nice ones around for £10K).
A sorted V8 Cerb for £10K? I don't think so. Maybe a V8 Cerb that could be sorted with a bit of TLC and some ££ thrown at it. But Nobody is going to let a sorted Cerb go for that kind of money, unless they're desperate. Good luck finding one but I think you'll be waiting a while. There are a few very nice looking models for less than £12K with lots of money spent on them.
As is said above, an M5 will just devalue and devalue. In a few years it'll be worth next to nothing irrespective of how well looked after it is. A Cerb on the other hand will always attract good money if it's well cared for.
Sounds like you should by a cheap little run around for your school/beach runs and spend a little more on a nice Cerb for those long blasts
