New Rear SO2s fitted
Discussion
I have had a new set of SO2s fitted today to the rear, and the car feels a lot more grippy and supple. Its not a problem mixing SO3s and SO2s is it? I intend to put SO2s on the front as well in the next couple of months.....I don't know if it's just me, but the SO2s seem a better tyre?
Not many of these around by the sound of it !!
Whilst searching for a single SO2 to match the front for my Cerbera, i have been "reliably" informed that the SO2 was phased out 12 months ago, replaced by the SO3 (imaginative bit of numbering there)
Several dealers gave the same story, my local go faster tyre place finaly tracked one down, and I should get it next week.
The original has loads of tread, but its grown a pair of rather alarming bulges in the inner sidewall
only done 1500 miles on it myself, but don`t know its history, I recon its been run flat at some time ??

Although the S02s were stopped for full production about 2 years ago and replaced by the S03 (still a good tyre, but not as good, imo), there are still certain variants available in 225/50/16 size.
These include the E S02 J2 which is OE fit for the Honda S200 and the S02 N3 which is listed as Porsche fit.
I have no idea if these are exactly the same compounds as the S02s that were put on TVRs, but they won't be much different. I can get these for just under £100 each.
Mytyres still list the 245/45/16 at £115.40 each (or at least did last week).
