Morning,

I am after some advice - I have a 2011 1.8 MX-5 SE which is on a lease. The car is coming up to its first birthday this month and therefore needs its first annual service. It only has 2500 miles on the clock.

I have phoned my local Mazda dealer and they want £170 for a service which I imagine is just an oil change. No chance.

My good lady's Father owns a garage - VAT registered etc. and he will do me a service for a much more acceptable price. I have spoken to both Mazda and the lease company and they are fine with this - they can even update the digital service record for me if I email in the invoice and it shows the use of genuine parts.

My issue is that I cannot find a definitive list of what needs to be done at a first service. I'm guessing it is just oil and filter and a general once over but is there anything else?

I might be better ordering the oil myself - any recommendations on that front?

Cheers!

Mark
