Anybody know if the engine mounts are a landy part or from some older BL car ? They are different to the BGT V8 ones.

There are some redesigned ones around but can't remember the name of the company now. One of the TVR specialists

Yes have seen those, or at least the early version of them and think I prefer the original type. However there do seem to be varying quality pattern parts available. The Original SD1 parts seem to have an air gap or hole passing through the rubber, the TVR ones seem to me made of a solid chunk of rubber and look more robust. Can see a set of the nicer looking ones on one of the supplies web sites but they seem rather expensive.

Yes, thanks for that, saw those but some of us prefer the original spec ones.

As an interesting aside however I see by following the link they improve the Power and Torque delivered to the rear wheels. Plainly by spending money on different induction systems and ECUs I have been going in entirely the wrong direction, all that was needed to get more power is a pair of those engine mounts.

You say you prefer the originals - have you tried the new type ?

The claim for more torque is true.

Many drag racers have for years put a stay onto the engine block to stop it twisting - that twisting force is believed to be transmitted to the wheels instead.

My reason for using they is just that they are much stiffer as I have exhausts that are very close to the chassis.

No not tried them but have seen some, um….... used ones.

Obviously I am very pleased for people who have increased their rear wheel power by fitting them.
