wing mirror switch

Hi All

I've been searching online and the forums but can't seem to find an answer?

Has anyone added wing mirror switches for the doors to an early Chim?

I've got mine stripped right down so now would be the ideal time really. Fitting the solenoid and wiring shouldn't be an issue. I could get a switch for the wing mirrors from RS Components and wire directly to the solenoid but this would be permanently on? Any ideas how they are wired as standard to work from the mirrors? Is the ground switched by the alarm?

Unlike later cars (eg. Sagaris), the buttons still try to operate when the car's locked, but the locking mechanism prevents them from opening the door.
