Xjr :) impressed but a few questions
Discussion
Iv just picked up a 98 v8 xjr for what I think is a serious bargain price.
Iv bought it for a ring trip and I'm that impresses I might just keep it.
The only thug that lets it down is the breaks are crap. They boiled over after just two hard stops. Are they generally poor or just need looking at ?

:yes +1 for fluid change.
Fresh DOT4 fluid should not boil below 230 deg but just a small percentage of moisture content will reduce this bp considerably. Check the brakes are not binding either, friction from even a slightly sticky caliper or brake pads will put a tremendous amount of heat into the fluid.

found mine to be great for the trip there and back but it was too heavy and lumbering for the 'Ring!!
Turn the traction control off as this is very sensitive and will hinder your exit out of the corners.
you should also use the J Gate rather than full auto. this will give you engine braking into the corners and ensure you are in the correct gear coming out!!
However you do it you will have fun im sure. Beware though, the 'Ring can bite!!!

i think it would be a lot better if it had a tiptronic type option and you could firm up the dampers a bit
you can get 325mm front discs from british parts
ebc red stuff pads from camskill to match and
