Was a passenger up there today - have they changed the traffic light timings so you can't nip through off the M40 southbound --> A404 anymore?
I used to be able to move off from the set at the top of the slip road, keep it rolling through the next set then fly through the last set, didn't look possible anymore though

1.1L Panda :$ Just had to be first, and still moving when the lights went green, was always bordline green/orange though. And yeah, its a shame cause that last bit of the M40 is so boring, it broke the tedium.

Didn't make it through all of them, but was first in the queue at the final lights on Saturday, on my way home from picking up my new car - an '06 Audi S6 (V10) with Milltek exhaust (coming from a 1.8 Mondeo!). Booted it from the lights (first ever time with that car), and it was the most amazing thing I've ever experienced. Was down the A404 before anything else had moved, and with a sound like thunder.

That's how performance cars should be driven. When I've been in truely fast cars before and launched them properly adrenaline is pumping and I have a huge smile like a Cheshire cat Sorry, had to share with someone, or

I rarely see anyone with nice cars gunning it properly.
Instead it is diesels which are nailed and I4 diesels at that.

Yep. And also the White vans they gun those diesels out to the limiter every gear. Nothing gets away fast. Personally I like passing on the short third lane on the A404 off the roundabout. I've not seen many other try it but it clearly takes lane2 by surprise as they think they are accelerating quickly but then boom destroyed by the fast lane.
Odd thing though when I do that I've had a bad experience three times in a 6 moth period let's say I get up to a decent speed some distance in front of the car I overtook in L2 then they at this speed get do close I cannot see their bumper... On two of these I was 2 seconds behind car in front and L1 full. Then some idiot pulled out from L1 into L2 causing chap infront of me to brake hard likewise me and I could see the chap in the car behind getting agitated shaking his fist... Anyway I carried on until I could pull in L2 clear instead he follows up my chuff all the way down the hill. Tosser. After a bit I decided sod this it's an accident waiting to happen so I did blast away.
Really don't get that behaviour I never cut him up at all many car lengths I believe it must be small penis syndrome. I bet he thought it was a personal challenge and I'd done him out of his manhood of something to me a clean overtake and hadn't even noticed anything.

Its probably because they will eventually go fast, but are saving their precious diesel by getting up to speed slowly. I don't do many miles, so sod that!

One was a Dark Blue Bora TDI all red letters so would be the 150bhp TDI think it was a 52 reg. Filthy car too. I don't get the people who stick it to L3 and the dordle along, to be undertaken and then sit up your chuff.
