I thought I would share this fantastic video of a great car with some proper engine noises for any of you who haven't seen it already!

I really like Harry's videos. Staggering how big cars have become compared to the Elan (the comparison with the Maser's wheel was eye opening in particular).

Great little car, would definitely be in my car collection. Chapman was way ahead of his time a genius.

To be fair, the Elan looked tiny parked next to almost anything, even back in the 60s. A while ago a saw a head-on picture of an Elan being followed by a Mini on the track, and the Mini looked huge.

I think the Elan still remains the overall best drivers car I've ever driven (or possibly a close second to various Caterhams).

ETA: Prices seem to have shot up in the last few years. You could get a decent DHC for about 15k five years ago, now they seem to be closer to twice that!

What a great little vid, Harry comes across as a genuinely nice bloke and a real car enthusiast. I saw some Elans racing at the Silverston Classic, they look brilliant fun!

The wheeler dealers restoration episode is worth a look too. They sort out the rubber donuts on the diff problem harry mentions.

Looks like great fun, always liked Elans.

Do the brakes work? I remember the lack of brakes being a massive shock when I drove an old MG, it just didn't want to stop at all.

Excellent video.

I think Harry has also solved my handling woes with his tale of the rear wishbones!
Just seen your profile, Nice looking Red Elan there! I assume its an easyish fix to replace a rear wishbone.

Great video that, the sort that makes you want to go out for a drive.

Beautiful car too, so much want, especially that noise.
Makes you proud to be British really.
