What mid range fork thread?

I pose the question what folks should I be getting for my new ride?

Now I think I'm looking for around 100-120mm in travel and MUST BE WHITE.

Will be mostly on trails/bridleways/roads.

Budget around £250-350ish.

I've been out of the scene for sometime and have no idea what's what at the moment.

Also any other decent mail order places other than chain reaction with competitive prices.

On-One usually have some exceptionally good deals. Mate picked up a set of Reba's a couple of months ago for less than £200, delivered the next day with remote lock out!

Rebas are exceptional value for the money. The only caveat is that at higher pressures (i.e. heavy riders) the spring curve is a little harsh meaning small bump response can be poor. On my wife's bike they are much much smoother but she's a lot lighter than me.

The RockShox Reba's do seem to have a good customer following but im probably more powerfully built than your wife Rhino.

To be fair I'm 17.5-18 stone at the moment and I still find them a very very good fork. What I'm describing is a side effect of all air-sprung short travel forks. Air springs are progressive rather than linear and the more air you put in, the sharper the spring rate IME. I guess it's down to having a limited space in which to package the air-spring. I have a 6" travel air fork that doesn't suffer as much because the air chambers are much much bigger in it.

I wouldn't discount them as I suspect the 'zochis will be the same with a lot of pressure in them.

i'm 80kgs and run std 9mm QR Reba SLs, they can get a bit sketchy on tight fast corners as the stanchions arent as beefy as other things but on the whole they are very nice, rebound is smooth and predicatable and 120mm copes with most things and they are fairly light. I would be happy with Rebas again on the XC/all day bike but would definately spec a through axle to cope with the wandering sensation on those corners.

I run a Secktor (which I think is the Reba replacement). It appears to be pretty good.

I think the Sektor is the replacement for the Pike, so a little burlier than the Reba and comes in air and coil guises.

Happy to be corrected.
The Sektor TK appears well up for abuse, although I found the mudium (default) spring a little soft. I'm now on the firm spring and happier.

20mm Revs set at 130mm would work well on that.

My TK's are 150mm and mated to a steel hardtail.
