My 2007 MX-5 failed its MOT today with "nearside front anti-roll bar linkage insecure" being cited as the reason.

£65 quoted to fit a new one. Is this a common fault with the MX-5 or have I done something silly to cause this?
Also, should I have noticed something being amiss before it being spotted during its annual?

Linkage insecure!
Does that mean the mounting bolts are loose and just need tightening?

I did wonder. I'm having it replaced just to play it safe, especially if it's a common fault.

I've seen it now. Most definitely broken and needs replacing.

Still don't know how I should have been able to tell that it was broken. Is it evident while driving?

Usually they are just a bit noisy though sometimes you can feel them knocking.

Somewhat quieter now when I corner.
