Biggest ever gathering of TVR Wedges was a huge success
They say the best things in life are free. That was certainly true of last weekend's BBWF. For the first time owners of TVR Wedges gathered for an informal chinwag at Ettington Chase near Stratford.
Organised via the TVRWedgePages and the PH Wedge forum, the event allowed owners of the cars to meet up and compare notes. With so many variants of the wedge having been made it was guaranteed to be a fascinating day out.
At least 100 cars attended includeing the former factory SEAC racing wedge as well as a significant proportion of the limited number of all SEACs made. A parade of white wedges even made it into the wedding photos of a couple getting married at the venue!
By all accounts, those that attended enjoyed a great time and we look forward to hearing about next year's gathering which many will now eagerly await.

For the entrance price of £0!. You had entrance to the hotel car park, free hotel tour (including the Bar!), Karl Cordwell selling everything you ever wanted for your Wedge, a chance to see the Factory racer, concours display and a country rumble.
An optional BBQ (£10) and hotel stay with breakfast (£65 per double room), and loads of beer optional.
And we had 'attractions for the ladies' - A big pile of SEAC's!!!
Can not wait until next year!.

What next then? Keep it simple and the same format next year? If tracks or pod required then does insurance come into it? Some nice drives in Wales but I am not aware of any hotels that provide the superb location and facilities as last weekend. Well not with that capacity.

I think we should keep it pretty much as is. If we try to cram more action in it'll fragment.
Ettington chase was pretty much perfect (apart form the bar prices!) as a venue and with it being central it'll bring the maximum number of cars.
Why not have a 'run wot yer brung' on the sunday at the nearest venue as a separate event for those who want a rumble up the strip? That way, the organisers of BBWF won't have too much to cope with, and the sunday event could be open to all TiV's and so could get TVRCC backing with their event insurance for the Sprinting.
We could hold the Donut competition there too

I have to agree with tallbloke, if the beer was 50-75p a pint cheaper, it would be perfect, but really, that's splitting hairs. I'd like to bring the Griff again next year, please.
Maybe we have the buying power to negotiate a better rate, maybe a tinny shed outside, maybe pay a corkage fee and drink what we bring. Eithe way i'm gonna get plastered again next year

I was think more in mid Wales, should have been a bit clearer. Many a good hoon to be had up there with little or no ambush by plod. I have stayed in a good few hotels around Wales but they mostlt do 10-20 rooms. Or less and very little parking. Anyhow. Just thinking aloud. Happy to stay with the same venue next year if its arranged.
